Virginia Alice McConnell, 84, Nickelsville, VA passed away, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Scott County, VA on February 2, 1928 to the late Early and Rosa Quillen.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Herman Edgar McConnell; sister, Kathleen Collins and brother, Robert Quillen preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lowder and husband, Michael of Johnson City, TN; son, Ron McConnell and wife, Mary Ann of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Matt Lowder, Wesley McConnell and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Betzy Elifrits Warren officiating.
Graveside services will be held at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA following the funeral service. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
