Shannon Ray McClellan – Duffield, VA
Shannon Ray McClellan, 37, Duffield, VA went to be with Jesus, Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Medical Center.
Shannon was born February 27, 1977 to Sandra Lane and the late Ronnie McClellan.
He was a wonderful father, son, brother, and friend to all who knew him. He was a past member of Duffield Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
In addition to his father, Ronnie McClellan, his maternal grandparents, Pat and Irene Dingus; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Ruby McClellan; and nephew, James Hall preceded him in death.
Surviving is his son, Lucas; special companion, Nikki and her children, Christopher and Riley, Duffield, VA; mother, Sandra Lane, Rye Cove, VA; sister, Gwenda (Red) Hall and husband, Tom, Yuma, VA; special cousins, Reggie, Rebecca, Matthew, and Micah Lane; along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Pendleton’s Freewill Baptist Church and other times at the residence of his mother, Sandra Lane. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at the church with Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Pendleton’s Chapel Church Choir will provide the music.
Burial will follow at the McNew Cemetery in the Stanleytown community of Scott County, VA. Reggie Lane, Joshua Dingus, Jacob Beaver, Larry Lane, Dwain Dingus, Tony Dingus, Aaron Dingus, and Will Chapman will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Duffield Volunteer Fire and Rescue will serve as honorary pallbearers.
