Charles Claude McClellan, 93, Gate City, VA passed away, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, VA.
Mr. McClellan was born in Scott County, VA on February 14, 1922. He was the son of the late George Bee and Barbara Hammonds McClellan.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Eastman Chemical.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Frances Jenkins McClellan; sisters, Georgia Hobbs, Mary Ruth Sanders, Louella McClellan, and Bertha McClellan; and brother, Ralph McClellan preceded him in death.
Surviving are his sons, Roger Kent McClellan and wife, Kathy, Midway community of Gate City, VA, Tony Scott McClellan, Roanoke, VA, Jeffery Claude McClellan and wife, Michelle, Houston, TX; and James Charles McClellan and wife, Marcie, Roanoke, VA; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; special friend, “Pop” Ecker; along with several nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Don Muncey officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
