In respect to Mr. Mathes request, his body will be cremated.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Mathes, Dungannon, VA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Michael Darnell, Dungannon, VA, Barbara and Don Ellis, Ringold, GA, Bobbie Mathes, Weber City, VA, Jeannie and Dale Perry, Dungannon, VA, Barbara and Farrell Stanley, Duffield, VA, Patricia and Odel Quillen, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Dottie and Bobby Summey, Jonesboro, TN, Johnny and Bill Brickey, Ft. Blackmore, VA; sons and daughter-in-law, Rod and Kim Mathes, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Robert Huston Mathes, Ellaville, GA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Peters Chapel in the Alley Valley Community with the Rev. William Berry officiating.
