Mary Ann (Gillenwater) Gray – Cicero, IL

Mary Ann (Gillenwater) Gray, 82, formerly of Fort Blackmore, VA passed away peacefully in Illinois.

Mary Ann was born in Fort Blackmore, VA on November 26, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Wise Wesley “Jake” and Monnie Edna (Lane) Gillenwater.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Lonnie Ford Gray, brothers, Edward Gillenwater and wife, Iris, Virgil Gillenwater, and infant brother, Robert Gillenwater, sister, Bobbie Jean Gillenwater, and infant sister, Rosa Mae Gillenwater preceded her in death.

She was a devoted mother to her children, Cindy (Mike) Olenick, Joe (Alan Schmitt) Gray, Robin Nash, and Nikki (Carmen) Anfuso, loving grandmother of Lauren (Tommy) Uda, Aaron Olenick, Tristan (Isaiah Crigger) Nash, Nathan Nash, Santino and Stella Anfuso, and one expectant great granddaughter, her devoted friend, Ron Cunat, brothers, Charles “Chuck” Gillenwater, Howard (Nell) Gillenwater, Tommy Ray (Jan) Gillenwater, Gerald (Deliliah) Gillenwater, sisters, Shirley (Coy) Butler, Juanita (K. P.) Pierson, sister-in-law, Maria Gillenwater, several nieces and nephews, and loving friends, Mary Plante, Amy Ramirez, and Odin Ramirez.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Midway Baptist Church in Scott County, VA. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., at the church with Rev. Marvin Egan, and Rev. Coy Butler officiating. Dinah Hicks, and Rhonda and David Hood will provide the music.

Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
