Nannie Mann, 92, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away at her residence on Friday, September 30, 2016.
She was born in Scott Co, VA on August 8, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Henry Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Davis Dorton.
Nannie is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Walter Mann; sisters, Hattie Mae Barnett and Thelma Wheatley and brother, Howard Dorton.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Osborne and friend, Jonah Gillenwater, Dungannon, VA and Jane Vanzant and husband, Lee, Jonesville, VA; sons, Phillip Mann and wife, Brenda, James Mann and wife, Alice, Larry Mann, and David Mann and fiance, Patty Goode, all of Ft. Blackmore, VA; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; sister, Helen Clyde Begley, Weber City, VA; special daughter, Wanda Gillenwater, Kingsport TN; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Neil Henderson officiating. Mickey and Nicky Summey will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Mann-Begley Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. James “Babe” Lawson, Mark Barnett, Jonah Gillenwater and Carrol Gillenwater will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. for the graveside services.
