Shannon Ray Maness, 31, entered into rest Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center due to a logging accident.
He was born in Sullivan County, TN February 27, 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Stacy Maness, Blackwater, VA; parents, Billy and Ada Maness, Blackwater, VA; brothers, Jacob Maness and fiancé, Brittany Wallen, Blackwater, VA, Steven Maness and wife, Pam, Duffield, VA; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Clarence Collett, Blackwater, VA; mother-in-law, Juanita Stapleton, Kyles Ford, TN; nieces and nephews, Felicia Berry, Harley Watlington, Corey and Jasmine Maness, Payton Qualls, Derick Gibson, Jamie Gibson, Dusty Moore, David Berry, Trenity Watlington, Seth Brooks; two great nieces, Ashanti and Aalehia Gibson; special aunt and uncle, Joe Maness and wife, Geraldine; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many friends; host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley and Rev. Jonathan Lovelace officiating. Music will be provided by The Hurd Family.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Maness Family Cemetery, Blackwater Community.
The family will meet at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Maness Family.
