Mary" Ruth" McAmis Lynch, 87, Gate City, VA passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Brian Center, Weber City, VA.
Mrs. Lynch was born in Greene County, TN on April 11, 1923, a daughter of the late George Roy and Lydia Lane McAmis. She formerly attended Roadside Baptist Mission, and was a homemaker.
Mary Ruth loved everyone and had a passion for sending birthday and greeting cards to her many relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lynch, Sr.,; infant son, George Edward Lynch; sisters, Madeline Hubbard, and Virginia Cale; brothers, Roy, Ober, Harry, and Jerry McAmis.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Garry Cole, Gate City, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Joan Lynch, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Roy Lynch, and James Cole, and wife, Robin; sister, Kathleen Smith, Winchester, VA; brothers and sister-in-law, Buford McAmis, and wife, Reba, Kingsport, TN, and Ralph McAmis, Taylors, SC; brother-in-law, Charles Cale, and wife, Madlyn, Marshall, TX; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Eddie McAmis and the Rev. Bob Lane officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to convey their special thanks to the staffs of the Brian Center and the Dialysis Center at Allandale.
