Lizzie Mae (Smith) Berry

Lizzie Mae (Smith) Berry, 79, entered into rest at her home March 2, 2024, with family by her side.

She was born on July 7,1944, in Scott County, VA, to the late Kelly and Sarah Lane Smith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Lloyd, Jack, and Kelly “June” Smith. 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Howard Berry; a brother, Eugene Smith; and a special person Eva Dell Hunter. 

The family will receive friends from 3-4p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 4:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jackie Frazier officiating. Bruce and Charlotte Rhoton will provide the music. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service. 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. 

The family would like to extend their thanks to Hospice for their love and care of Liz.
