Linda McClain Blanton – Gate City, VA
Linda McClain Blanton, 73, of the Nottingham community passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 28, 2014 in Texas.
Linda was born in Scott County, VA on March 24, 1941 to the late Whitt and Monnie McClain.
Linda was a lifelong member of Nottingham United Methodist Church. She loved crafting, gardening, spending time with family and loved all her pets dearly.
Ms. Blanton is preceded in death by her parents, Whitt McClain and Monnie Sampson McClain; two sisters, Ann McClain Quillen and Sue McClain Taylor; one niece Stephanie Hammond.
Linda is survived by one daughter, Ginger Blanton, TX; two sisters, Betty McClain and Jacqueline McClain McConnell and husband, Everett, all of Gate City, VA; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends; special friend, Reba Bishop O’keefe and her special buddy in crafts, Keagan Couch.
The family will hold a celebration of life for Ms. Blanton at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Nottingham United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Porter officiating. Music will provided by Hope Bright.
The family asks that all who wishes to attend the service and visit with the family please be at the church by 2:00 p.m.
