Ruth Leonard Hiltons, VA ? Ruth Culbertson Leonard, 87, took her place among the Angels Friday, September 28, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She lived a life of unselfish giving and was a blessing to all who knew her. She was of the Pentecostal faith and member of Faith Bible Tabernacle, Hiltons, VA. She was born in Wise County, VA February 7, 1920 to the late H.C. and Emma Creech Culbertson. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Garney Frazier and husband, Joe H. Leonard; daughters, Mary Dell Sumner and Josephine Frazier; brothers, Barney, Fred, Cecil and Ray Culbertson; several half brothers and half sisters. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Larry Mullins, Hiltons, VA, Phyllis Phillips, Kingsport, TN, Barbara and Eddie Noe, Church Hill, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Kay Frazier, Hiltons, VA; sister, Lois Fields, Kingsport, TN; brother, Earl Culbertson, Kingsport, TN; several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; seven step children; several nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Buford Blankenbeckler officiating. Music will be provided by the Gateway Singers. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Tom Baker, Nat Baker and other friends and neighbors will serve as honorary pallbearers.
