Willie Mae Sturgill Lawson, 92, Duffield, VA passed away, Wednesday, December 05, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center ER.
Mrs. Lawson was born in Scott County, VA on June 8, 1920 to the late Walter and Lillie Ann Barrett Stugill.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Raymond Lawson, Sr.; sister, Lucille Stewart, and James Sturgill preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Blanton and husband, Ronald, Kingsport, TN; sons, Raymond Lawson, Jr., Gate City, VA, Ronnie Lawson and wife, Loretta, Kingsport, TN, and Kent Lawson, Duffield, VA; grandchildren, Bart Blanton and wife, Tammy, Richard Blanton, and Kay Lawson; great grandchild, Connor Blanton; sister, Nancy Richards and husband, Jimmy, Mountain City, TN; brothers, Robert Sturgill and wife, Jackie, Brooks, KY and Kenneth Strugill and wife, Carolyn, Nashville, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 -7 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Joel Brister officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2012 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
