Lester Kyle Lawson – Duffield, VA
Lester Kyle Lawson, 94, Duffield, VA passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Lawson was born in Scott County, VA on November 13, 1915. He was the son of the late John Lawson and the late Stella Neely. He retired as an operator at Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Qualls Lawson and sister, Opal Mullins.
Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Bobrosky, and son-in-law, Bill, Batesville, AR; son, Charlie Lawson, and daughter-in-law, Sherry, Cumberland Gap, TN; and nephews, Colin Mullins and wife Jo Bill, Gray, TN and Johnny Mullins and wife Debbie, Chico, CA; grandchildren Kim Bobrosky Hafidi and husband Reda, Tim Bobrosky, Vic Graves and Shelly, Dewayne Graves and Shannon; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He attended Thomas Village Baptist Church. Mr. Lawson was a Mason and a member of the Clinchport Catlett Lodge #267 for the past 64 years.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Thomas Village Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. at Thomas Village Baptist Church with Dewayne (Kojak) Graves and Rev. Bill Kendricks officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 12, 2010 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside.
