Ival Louise Culbertson Lawson – Gate City, VA
Mrs. Ival Louise Lawson, 80, Gate City, VA passed away, Thursday, November 17, 2011 at her residence due to illness.
Mrs. Lawson was born in Sullivan County, TN on September 1, 1931, daughter of the late Allie Culbertson Hicks.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Horton Lawson; son, Luther Paul Lawson, daughter, Pasty Kay Lawson; twin great grandkids, Lucas and Lacie Lawson and sisters, Beulah and Linda.
She is survived by her sons, Andy H. Lawson, Jr. and wife, Ida, Dungannon, VA, Johnny E. Lawson and wife, Brenda, Greenville, TN, and Jimmy Earl Lawson and wife, Rebecca, Gate City, VA; daughters, Ava Juanita Lawson, Big Stone Gap, VA, Cathy Lawson Chandler and husband, James, Gate City, VA, Betty Sue Smith and husband, Henry, Gate City, VA, and Helen Lawson Brummitt and husband, Robert, Gate City, VA; 17 grandchildren, several step grandkids, and many great grandkids, special friend of many years, Bill Salling, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brothers, Ronald and wife, Margaret, Richard and wife, Elaine and Marion; sisters, Betty and Brenda, all of Western Tennessee, Sue, Northern Virginia and Jean, Arizona; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times as the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Smith and Brother Gary Hunley officiating. House of Refuge Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday November 21, 2011 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Grandsons and granddaughters will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
