Osta Mae Lane, 96, entered into rest July 30, 2009 at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Scott County, VA December 27, 1912 to the late John L. and Cena Belle Lane Bates.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd W. Lane and one son, William Harold Lane.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. E.L. Jr., (Dalphine) Gillenwater, Kingsport, TN, Mrs. Coy (Billie) Akers, Clinchport, VA; grandchildren, Jeff Darnell and wife, Debbie, Atlanta, GA, Tina Akers, Clinchport, VA, Rhonda Greear and husband, Darrell, Church Hill, TN, Roger Jones, Nashville, TN; one great granddaughter, Kellie Coleman and husband, Tim, Atlanta, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Smith and Bill Lane officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Lane, Roger Jones, Tim Coleman, Allen Berry, Jeff Darnell, and Don Akers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Gillenwater, Robert Clark, Bob Stokes, Stan Presley, Jonah Gillenwater and Leonard Rhoton.
Special thanks to her precious physician, Dr. Wesley Eastridge and the staff of the Brian Center.
