Orbin Cline Lane,90, Gate City, VA went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Pendleton's Free Will Baptist Church. His greatest joy was serving God, going to church and reading his Bible. Orbin drove a school bus for many years, was a retired truck driver and farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Carter Lane; parents, Hobart and Kate Dorton Lane; daughter, Wilma Lane, son, James Lane, grandson, Isaac Wolfe, great grandson, Jake Aquino, and brothers, James Edward Lane and Claude Lane.
He is survived by his children, Barbara McMurray and husband, Gorman, Church Hill, TN, Wanda Cowden and husband, Jerry, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Lynn Wolfe and husband, Scott, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Larry Lane and wife, Teresa, Ft. Blackmore, VA; daughter-in-law, Sandy Blanton, Norton, VA; sister, Mable Dingus, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, Penny Aquino and husband, Jose, Reggie Lane and wife, Becky, Jennifer Beaver and husband, Jacob, Ginny Thompson Lemly and husband, Glenn, Rachel Wolfe, Bonnie Morgan and husband, Shane, Keith Senopole; great grandchildren, Nathan Aquino, Joseph Aquino, Gabriel Aquino, Courtney Smith, Kara Smith, Beth Beaver, Matthew Lane, Micah Lane, Sarah Morgan, Ali Morgan, Sophia Morgan; sisters-in-law, Agnes Lane and Sally Lane; special friend, Janie Blevins; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Sanders, Rev. Terry Rhoton, and Evangelist Gorman McMurray officiating. Pendleton's Church Choir, Nathan Aquino, and Jeff Watson will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013at the Pierson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Jose Aquino, Nathan Aquino, Jacob Beaver, Reggie Lane, Glenn Lemly, Joseph Aquino, Gabriel Aquino, Matthew Lane, Micah Lane, Shane Morgan, and Keith Senopole will serve as pallbearers.
Penny Aquino, Jennifer Beaver, Becky Lane, Ginny Thompson Lemly, Rachel Wolfe, Bonnie Morgan, Courtney Smith, Kara Smith, Beth Beaver, Sarah Morgan, Ali Morgan, and Sophia Morgan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
