Mary Lou Lane, 73, Blountville, TN passed away, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, TN.
Mary was born in Scott County, VA on July 23, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Hazel (Berry) Sturgill.
In addition to her parents her son, Johnny Lee Lane; sister, Lena Kate Sturgill; and brothers, Jack Sturgill and Charlie Frank Sturgill preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Lane, Blountville, TN; and Vernon Lane, Blountville, TN; granddaughters, Kellie Lane, Blountville, TN and Danielle Barnes and husband Joey, Blountville, TN; sisters, Nellie Barrett and husband, James, Kingsport,TN, Patsy Rhoton and husband, Audley, Gate City, VA, and Linda Hammonds and husband, Don, Mt. Carmel, TN; brothers, Leonard Sturgill and wife, Buna, Kettering, OH, Lee Sturgill, Duffield, VA, Bill Sturgill and wife Benita, Duffield, VA, Robert Sturgill and wife Faye, Gate City, Va, Wayne Sturgill and wife Sherry, Big Stone Gap, VA, and Larry Sturgill and wife Sherry, Big Stone Gap, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday April 26, 2016 at the Purchase Ridge Church with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley and Rev. Matthew Clark officiating. The Clarks will provide the music.
Burial will follow at the Sturgill Family Cemetery in Duffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
