Kyle Lane – Duffield, VA
Kyle Lane, 67, Duffield, VA passed away, Wednesday, January 13, 2015 after a long battle with cancer at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Mr. Lane was born in Scott County, VA on September 27, 1947 to the late Clint and Mary Melinda Akers Lane.
In addition to his parents, his brothers, J.C., Paul and Hubert Lane preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Valerie Lane, Duffield, VA; daughter, Melinda Berry and husband, Brian, Duffield, VA; son, Jeff Lane and wife, Sherry, Kingsport, TN; sister, Ella Mae McDavid and husband, James, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Kaylee Lane and Steven Lane; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Hickman officiating. J.E. and Carolyn Mauk will provide the music.
Military Graveside services will be conducted by the by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Barrett Cemetery on Bolder Lane in the Copper Creek Community of Scott County, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. JR. Hill, James Kindle and Howard Kendrell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
