Mrs. Iva Hester Alley Lane, 84, Gate City, VA died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Holston Manor, Kingsport, TN.
Iva was born in Scott County, VA on January 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Vernon and Laura Alley.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Leonard Lane; sisters, Zella Williams and Polly Kerns; and brothers, Joe Gilbert Alley, Ralph Alley, Lofie Alley, Gene Alley, and Chester Alley preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Lane and wife, Rita; daughter, Carolyn Melton and husband, Bob; four grandchildren, Mickey Lane and wife, Robin, Jason Lane, Billy Powers and wife, Jennifer, and Regina Powers; three great grandchildren, Sidney Lane, Cody Powers, and Calista Powers; and brother, Bud Alley, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 2:0 0 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Clayton Williams officiating. The Three C’s in Christ will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Mickey Lane, Jason Lane, Sidney Lane, Billy Powers, Troy Alley, and Roger Bowen will serve as pallbearers.
