Herman Lane, Duffield, VA
Herman Lane, 79, of Duffield, VA passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Herman was born in Scott County, VA on June 15, 1940, and was the son of the late Truman Lane and Lillian “Bloomer” Lane.
He went to Fairview Highschool, worked at Slipknot Belting, Bristol Hospital, and Marion Hospital.
He enjoyed his family, ginseng hunting, fishing, and walking. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lane, sister Bernice Lane, and brothers, W.H. Lane, Clyde Lane, and Robert Lane.
He is survived by his sons, Josh Lane and Jason Lane both of the home; sisters, Linda Lane, Rhonda Jean Lane; brother, Jack Lane; grandchildren, Jasmine Lane, Hanah Lane, Jonathon Lane; as well as other close relatives.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, at the Gate City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Vanus Scalf officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted following the service, Saturday in the Rhoten and Lane Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers
