Beulah Lane, 79, entered into rest Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Scott County, VA December 21, 1928 to the late Franklin Dockery and Otilda Lawson Dockery. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ira Lane; sons, Ralph Lane and Bobby Lane; sisters, Nora Lane and Rachael Elliott; brothers, Ezra and Ray Dockery; one grandson, Jason Lane.
She attended Midway Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Glen Sanders, Hiltons, VA and Martha Kendrick, Gate City, VA; sons and daughter-in-law, Roy Lee and Wanda Lane, Weber City, VA, Jimmy Lane, Gate City, VA, Teddy Lane, Gate City, VA, Tony Lane, Kingsport, TN and beloved daughters-in-law, Carol Lane and Tammy Lane; one brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Gladys Dockery, Kingsport, TN; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. George Willis and Rev. Coy Butler officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Holder and L.D. Hill.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Lane Cemetery, Midway Community. The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Bob McGee, Jim Williams, Chester Culbertson, Timothy Tipton, Edgar Egan and Ray Carrico. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Kendrick and Paul Lane.
