Gate City, VA ? Hemple Kinkead, 77, went home to be with the Lord and the love of her life, Fred on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born September 13, 1930 to the late Charlie Patton Bellamy and Alice Roach Ervin Bellamy. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kinkead; sisters, Faye Templeton and Trula Williams; brothers, Herman, Syl and Mack Bellamy.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Janice Gillenwater, Gate City, VA, Sue and Teddy Starnes, Duffield, VA; granddaughter, Angel Gillenwater Hobbs and husband, Tracy, Kingsport, TN; grandson, Jeff Starnes and wife, Lindsay, Grundy, VA; great granddaughter, Ryleigh Starnes; step great granddaugther, Madison "Lady Bug" Hackney; sisters, Froudia Phipps, Kingsport, TN, Hazel Hobbs, Kingsport, TN; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bellamy, Kingsport, TN and Lynne Bellamy, Gate City, VA; brother-in-law, James Templeton, Kingsport, TN; special friends and phone buddies, Erma Lane, Carol Akers, Jewel Grizzle and Rita Fansler; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Janice. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with eulogy given by Wayne Bellamy. Music will be provided by Upward Way Quartet.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honoraray pallbearers will be Dale Townsend, Larry Huff, Walter Adams, Mack Horton and Rick Fansler.
