Douglas Wayne Ketron II, 51, Gray, TN passed away, Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital.
Mr. Ketron was born in Sullivan County, TN on March 18, 1964 and was the son of Jeanette Lee Herron Ketron Shew and the late Douglas Wayne Ketron I.
Doug was a very caring person; he was a friend to all. His hobbies included wood carving and sketching. He spent lots of time with his brothers and loved to be outdoors. Doug enjoyed the simpler things in life; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Herron Shew, Kingsport, TN; step-mother, Elsie Mae “Bonnie” Ketron, Fall Branch, TN; sisters, Sonya Opachick, Oak Ridge, TN, Denise Lewis, Bryson City, NC; brothers, Jeffrey “J.B.” Ketron, Gray, TN, Preston Ketron, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
A 2p.m. burial will follow the visitation at Wisely Cemetery, Gate City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Jeffrey” J.B.” Ketron and Preston Ketron will serve as honorary pallbearers.
