Terry Farrell Kern, 50, entered into rest Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Sullivan County, TN January 16, 1958 to the late Garland Kern and Sybil Shupe Kern.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Kern, Duffield, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Amber Kern, Duffield, VA; very special grandson, Hunter Kern (his pride and joy), Duffield, VA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva and William White, Kingsport, TN, Mabel Arrington, Church Hill, TN, Barbara and Dobby Smith, Church Hill, TN, Juanita and T.J. Hood, Duffield, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Carolyn Kern, Duffield, VA, Kenny and Patsy Kern, Duffield, VA, Garland Jr., and Tina Kern, Gate City, VA, Danny and Glenda Kern, Duffield, VA; several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend who was like a son, John Dingus.
The body will be returned to the residence at 9922 Hunters Valley Road, Duffield, VA. The family will receive friends there from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Stanleytown Community Church with Adam Roberts and Rev. Joe Roberts officiating. Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers.
The body will be taken to the church at 12 noon, Wednesday, July 9, 2008
Burial will follow the service at Hills Chapel Cemetery, Mabe Community.
Pallbearers will be Gino Kern, Jamie Stanley, Jerry Bowen, Larry Epperson, Charles (Honey) Kern, and Clyde Curtis Kern, Jr.
Gate City Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Kern family.
