Edna Alene Kendrick, 80, entered into rest Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Brian Center, Weber City, VA with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Scott County, VA September 2, 1928 to the late James Andrew Williams and Sara Elizabeth Davidson. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Williams and Earnest Williams.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weber City, VA and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Doyle "Ross" Kendrick, Gate City, VA; daughter , Wrenda Lane and husband, Steve, Maryville, TN; sons, Mitchell Ross Kendrick, Berthoud, CO, Richard Lee Kendrick and wife, Jennifer, Gate City, VA; brother, Wilford Williams and wife, Kathlene, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Michael Stephen Lane, Kristen Nicole Lane and Emilee Dawn Kendrick; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Paul Blessing and Rev. Lonnie Townsend officiating. Music will be provided by the Mabe Church Singers.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her family and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Nancy Townsend for her care to Mrs. Kendrick and the employees of the Brian Center for their excellency while she was under their care.
