Ricky Lynn Joyner, 58, passed away peacefully late on December 6, 2016.
Rick was born in Kingsport on September 2, 1958 to the late Leroy and Charlotte Harley Joyner. He attended Gravely School and Lynn View High School. Rick worked alongside his father and brothers as a brick mason with Joyner Masonry for several years. He later worked at the City of Kingsport.
Rick was extremely outgoing; he never met a stranger. He was a thoughtful, kind man and had a keen memory. He always remembered people on their birthdays and anniversaries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lisa Guinn Joyner in 2004. Sister-in-law Alberta Joyner; Brothers-in-law Sam Stokes and Wilburn Gibson.
He is survived by his daughters, Aylissa Lynn Joyner and Shasta Nicole Jarrett; son, Christopher Jarrett. Granddaughter Rylie; grandsons, Anakin, AJ, Brandon, Jr., Addison, Harlee, and Elijah. Sisters Carolyn Stokes, Ruth and Roger Clendenin, Teresa and Charles Thompson, Sherry and Jimmy Gilliam, and Judy Gibson. Brothers Butch, Jerry and Donna, Steve and Anita, Tony and Pam, David, Mark and LaShell, Rob and Jeff Joyner. Special uncle John P. Hensley. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday Dec. 10th from 4pm to 6pm at Gate City Funeral Home. Pastor Johnny Gibson will be speaking on behalf of the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and Chaplain of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family and sent to Carolyn Stokes PO Box 2309, Church Hill TN 37642.
