Charlotte Harley Joyner – Kingsport, TN
Charlotte Harley Joyner, 81, Kingsport, TN passed away, Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Joyner was born in St. Charles, VA on April 15, 1934. She was the daughter of the late James G. and Ethel Lambert Harley.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Leroy Joyner, Sr.; her daughters-in-law, Alberta Joyner and Lisa Joyner; sons-in-law, Sammy Stokes and Wilburn Gibson; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Joyner; great grandson, Chase Sams; sisters, Irene Luther, Tina Harley, Fern Barrett, and Grace Hensley; brothers, Johnny Harley and Virgil Harley; sisters-in-law, Faye Gilliam and Nancy Carter; and brother-in-law, Ed Joyner preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Stokes, Mrs. Roger (Ruth) Clendenin, Mrs. Charles (Teresa) Thompson, Mrs. Jimmy (Sherry) Gilliam and Mrs. Judy Gibson; sons, Leroy "Butch" Joyner, Jr., Jerry and wife Donna, Steve and wife Anita; Rick, Tony and wife Pam, David, Mark and wife LaShell, Rob and Jeff Joyner; 28 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; great great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Isabella Gibson; sister, Chrystal Goodson; brother-in-law, John P. Hensley; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Her sons will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m., Thursday to go in procession to the graveside service.
