David Curtis Jordan, 54, Nickelsville, VA went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 1, 2014 at his home.
David’s favorite pastime was fishing in the local pond and going to Wal-Mart to buy fishing supplies. He often spoke of going to Heaven to fish with those that had preceded him in death, including his brother, Ronnie Jordan; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Bessie Jordan; maternal grandparents, Gleaves and Ada Jessee.
David is survived by his parents, Maynard and Esta Jordan, Nickelville, VA; sister, Connie Jordan, Nickelsville, VA; brother, Randy Jordan and wife, Sherry, Piedmont, SC; two adopted brothers, Shaun Stapleton, Nickelsville, VA and Rev. Travis Stapleton and wife, Robin, Nickelsville, VA.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at7:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Travis Stapleton and Rev. Henry Wayne Meade officiating. Travis and Robin Stapleton will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Temple Hill, Castlewood, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
