Kyle Talmadge (T.J.) Jones, Sr. 83, Gate City, VA entered into rest November 8, 2008 at St. Mary's Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, TN.
Mr. Jones was born in Scott County, VA February 2, 1925 to the late James Beverly Jones and Nancy Elizabeth Hale Jones.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was of the Christian faith, love his horses, his dogs, cats and various other pets. Mr. Jones was self employed repairman and enjoyed talking on his C.B. Radio and his C.B. buddies knew him as T.J.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Fannie Carter and Florence Smith. Seven brothers, Lloyd, Ed, William, Lester, Banner, Leonard and Robert Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Charlie Ann Horton Jones, Kingsport, TN, daughters, Misty Dawn Baldwin and husband, Jim, Church Hill, TN, and Charr Leeann McDavid and husband, Alan, Gate City, VA; sons, Kyle T. Jones, Jr., Kingsport, TN, C.B. Jones and wife, Sandy, Nickelsville, VA, Joel J. Jones and wife, Pamela, Gate City, VA, and Jock J. Jones and wife, Tracie, Kingsport, TN; Grandchildren, SPC Joel Evan Jones (serving in Iraq), Meagan Jones, Cody Jones and wife, Rachel; step-grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Mc David. Along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Travis Stapleton officiating.
Music will be provided by his grandson, Cody Jones.
Kyle Jones, Jr., C.B. Jones, Cody Jones, Evan Jones, Meagan Jones, Steve Jones, David Jones, James Jones will serve as pallbearers.
Charles Horton and Billy Bellamy will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and nurses at St. Mary's and one special nurse (Deborah) at Holston Manor.
