Charles Edward Jones, 84, Gate City, VA passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Jones was born in Scott County, VA on September 11, 1926.to the late Ross and Ila Carter Jones. He was retired from Holston Defense.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Booher Jones; brothers, R.L. and A.J. Jones.
He is survived by his sisters, Amalie Sloan, Clinchport, VA and Cheryl Rhoton and husband, Cecil, Gate City, VA; brother, Leonard Jones and wife, Ethel, Clinchport, VA; brothers-in-law, Doyle Jones, Clinchport, VA and Jay Booher, Blountville, TN along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Pat Davis, Jr. officiating. Wayne Bledsoe will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. James Fawbush, Chris Johnson, W.H. Neeley, Sammy Rogers, and Jimmy Calhoun will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family wishes to give thanks to Mr. Jones's caregivers, Darlene Smith, Martha Wilcox, Wanda Hackney, and special thanks to Patsy Hensley and employees of the Brian Center.
