Arley "Buggs" Jones, Jr. – Kingsport, TN
Mr. Arley "Buggs" Jones, Jr., 81, Kingsport, TN passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Jones was born in Gate City, VA on May 15, 1931 to the late Arley Jones, Sr. and Emma Kate Clark Quillin.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps., serving during the Korean War. He was a former employee of Kayo and retired from Palace Vending. Buggs loved playing with his grandchildren, playing solitaire, watching westerns, growing tomatoes, and watching the birds and squirrels in his back yard. He was deeply loved by his family and all who met him.
In addition to his parents, his son, Jesse "Skip" Jones and brothers, Carroll and Fred Jones preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Fleming and husband, Richard, Tami Smith, Yvonne Hiter and husband, Scotty, Amanda Smith, and Alisha Smith; son Chris Jones and wife, Wendy; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, who were his pride and joy; sister, Elizabeth Cleek; special nieces and nephew, Jo-Rita Clayton, Brenda Cleek, and David Cleek; along with great nephews, Tommy and Blake.
The family will receive friends anytime at their homes.
Military Graveside Services will be conducted at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the VA National Cemetery; Mountain Home, TN by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA and Rev. Bill Porter. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 8:45 a.m. for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home to help with Mr. Jones final expenses.
