David “Cob” Johnson – Gate City, VA
We mournfully announce the passing of David Lynn “Cob” Johnson, 58, of Gate City, Virginia.
David passed away, on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Born on November 13, 1962, to Joe and Anna Lee Johnson in Lebanon, Virginia, David was a truck driver by trade. He had a passion for riding motorcycles, hunting on High Knob, and frequenting area flea markets.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving is his wife, Cynthia Tipton Johnson; brother, Troy Johnson; aunt, Mary Hawkins; stepson, Cody (Emily) Davidson; stepdaughter, Autumn Davidson; grandchildren, for whom his love was boundless, Ansley (or “Tootie Bug”, a special buddy), Abel, and Nixon; sister-in-law, Amber (Terry) Spivey; in-laws, Shirley and Bill Pat Tipton; and his special friend, Rod Davis.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Grassy Creek Cemetery in Castlewood, VA with Pastor David Grubb officiating.
