Jimmie Earl Lawson (Squirrel)- Gate City, VA

Jimmie Earl Lawson, 64, Gate City, VA, passed away, Monday, February 17, 2025, at his residence.

Jimmie was born in Kingsport, TN, on January 24, 1961, to the late Andy Horton Lawson, Sr., and Ival Louise (Culbertson) Lawson.

In addition to his parents, his first wife and love of his life, Evelyn Lawson; second wife, Rebecca Lawson; infant twin grandbabies, Lucas Allen and Lacie Ellen Lawson; special nephew, Toby Smith; sisters, Patsy Lawson Chandler, and Helen “Toozie” Lawson; and brothers, Johnny Everson Lawson, and Luther Paul Lawson preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sonya Lawson Marley and Stacie Wagers (Otis); son, Edmond Lawson; sisters, Ava Lawson, twin sisters, Betty (Henry) Smith, and Cathy (James) Chandler; brother, Andy Horton Lawson, Jr. (Ida); grandchildren, Whitney Gragg, Olivia Hawkins, Eustace Lawson; great-grandchildren, Oliver Gragg and Sabin Gragg; fur baby, Dixie; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2-4p.m., Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 4:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at The Ponderosa Cemetery, Gate City, VA, at 2:00p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025. Rick Bowen, Edmond Lawson, Marvin and Andy Smith, family, and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15p.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.
