Anna Belle Jeter – Nickelsville, VA
On April 2, 2015, Heaven gained an angel, Anna Belle, Jeter, as she was surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Jeter was born in Scott County, VA on November 16, 1922, a daughter of the late Hobert and Saran Elliott Porter.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Nell Musick and brothers, Joe Bill and Paul Porter preceded her in death.
Surviving Anna is the love of her life to whom she was married for 74 years, Elmer Lee Jeter, Nickelsville, VA; daughters, Dorothy Wampler and husband, Bill, Nickelsville, VA and Joyce Addington and husband, Gary, Nickelsville, VA; son, Darrell Jeter and wife, Tina, Yuma, VA; grandchildren, Judy Fields, Suprena (David) Phillips, Darrick (Deloras Wolfe) Addington, Monique (Bryan Qualls) Carrico, Melissa (Shannon) Babb, Sarah (Logan) Blackwell, Lisa (Sammy) Parks; 13 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sister, Merrill Stapleton, Nickelsville, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter Joyce and Gary Addington. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. G.W. White and Brother Kenneth Kiser officiating. A eulogy will be given by her great grandchildren, Casey Fields and Brandie Blankenship. Greg and Becky White and Janice Herron will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Casey Fields, Darrick, Addington, Eddie Musick, Shannon Babb, Garrett Sluss, and James White will serve as pallbearers. Jeff White, Bill Bowling, Jerry Broadwater, Terry Sivert, Bryan Qualls, Bob Givens, and Roger Fields will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, to go in procession to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, National Capital Area Chapter, 3701 Pender Drive, Suite 400, Fairfax, VA 22030 in the name of Anna Belle Jeter.
The family wishes thank Dr. Arthur Wyker and the staff of NOVA Health and Rehab for their love and care of Mrs. Jeter.
