Joseph Danle Jessee, 75 entered into rest at his residence, Wednesday, August 6, 2014.
Mr. Jessee was born in Scott County VA. June 1, 1939 a son of the late Lee and Minnie Frazier Jessee.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Esta Mae Jessee, Elizabeth Jessee Hartsell and Three brothers; William Jessee, Sterlin Jessee and Otis Jessee.
Mr. Jessee is survived by his wife Helen Jessee Duffield, VA; three daughters and sons-in-law; Nancy Cox and husband Scott, Kingsport, TN. Della Sparkman and husband Ted Blackwater, VA. and Rose Byington and husband Tim Gate City, VA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob Jessee and wife June Duffield, VA. Elmer Jessee and wife Frances Duffield, VA and Cecil Jessee Powell TN. three Grandchildren, Christina Simpson, Joshua Sparkman and wife Kristen, Ryne Cox and wife Rachel; three great grand children, Kristian and Kalynn Ramsey and Callie Sparkman.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Joe Hill officiating. The Singing Holbrooks will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at Cox Chapel Cemetery, Mabe community of Scott County, VA.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers Josh Sparkman and Ryne Cox will serve as honorary pallbearers.
