Robert Glenmore “Buck” Jennings, 57, Gate City, VA passed away, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical after a brief illness.
Buck was born in Scott County, VA on November 16, 1957 to the late Robert “Bob” and Betty Craft Jennings.
Surviving is his wife, Caroline Frank Jennings, Gate City, VA; daughter, Summer Jennings, Gate City, VA; brother, Ryland Jennings, Gate City, VA; sister, Rebecca Jennings and husband, Michael Majors, Harrison, AR; sisters-in-law, Susie Hickman, Belmont, WV, Bonnie Frank, Gate City, VA, Mary Ann Frank, GA, Brenda Frank Gilliam and husband, Steve, Gate City, VA; Pat Taylor and husband, W.C., Gate City, VA; five nieces, five nephews, eight great nieces, and seven great nephews; very special friends, Mrs. Helen Lane, Pete Pendleton, Jimmy and Christine Wampler; along with an abundance of very close friends.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence and the residence of his brother, Ryland Jennings. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rick Begley officiating. A eulogy will be given by Betsy Bledsoe and a poem read by Kate Taylor. Nick Hubbard will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery. Weber City, VA. Buck’s nephews and very close friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Pallbearers: Jake Jennings, Jed Gilliam, Evan Gilliam, Jason Hickman, Aaron Hickman, and Pete Pendleton. Honorary pallbearers: Steve Gilliam, W.C. Taylor, Jimmy Wampler, Doug Gray, Charles Cassidy, Ernie Oaks, Bobby Oaks, Mike Oaks, and Jack Pearcy.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service.
