Anna Mae Jenkins, 84, of Gate City, VA, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

Anna Mae was born August 25, 1928 in Scott County, VA to "Johnny B" and Monnie Estelle Gillenwater. She and her husband, Kenneth, owned Jenkins Radio & TV in Big Stone Gap, VA in the 1960's. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #157 of Big Stone Gap. She was a member of Oak Glen Baptist Church of Yuma, Va. Anna Mae was saved at an early age. There was nothing she loved more than witnessing about her beloved Jesus.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Jenkins, sisters; Bealie Gillenwater Stallard, Mildred Ruth Johnson and Mary Kate Clark, brothers; Jerry Wayne Gillenwater, Emerson L. Gillenwater, and Lawton Q. Gillenwater.
She is survived by her son, "Colonel James" James E. Jenkins and wife Ruth of Palm Coast, FL., daughters; Judy Jenkins Kilgore and husband Ronnie Dow of Duffield, VA. and Linda Ervin and husband Bob of Gate City, VA., brother: Don Gillenwater and wife Mary of Kingsport, TN., grandchildren; Rochelle Starnes, Dawn Perry, Anthony Jenkins, John Gillenwater, Steven Gillenwater and Kenneth Ervin, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, daughter of the heart, Carla Norris, lifelong friend, Annis Graham and residents of Clinch View Manor.
The Jenkins family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Brother Danny Sykes, Pat Davis and Wayne Stallard officiating. Oak Glen Baptist Church Singers will provide the music.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA. Nephews, Gene Stallard, Sammy Gillenwater, Homer Stallard, Johnny Stallard, John Shannon Gillenwater, Wayne Gillenwater, Mike Gillenwater, Darrel Gillenwater and Donny Jenkins will serve as pallbearers. Wayne Wilmoth, Randy Bowen, Dewayne Bowen and Roy Baker will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession.
