Mr. Ison was born in Harlan County, KY on October 31, 1954 to the late Jessie James Eldridge and Josephine Ison.
In addition to his parents, his sister and 2 brothers preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Compton, Gate City, VA; 5 sisters and 3 brothers; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Compton Family Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
