Evelyn Ison, Gate City, VA passed away, Wednesday, December 15, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Mrs. Ison was born in Scott County, VA on October 23, 1927 the daughter of the late Melvin Flanary and Ida Powers Flanary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Conley Ison; Sister Manie Ellgass and brothers, Bill Flanary, Arthur Flanary and Howard Flanary.
She is survived by her nieces Bonnie Trott of Dryden, Michigan and Kay Hale of Kingsport, Tennessee, several great nieces and one great great niece.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; Monday, December 19, 2011 at Gate City Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., December 19, 2011 at Holston View Cemetery; Weber City, VA. Rev John Hackney will be officiating.
