Joyce Carol Horne, 65, Gate City, VA passed away, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Joyce was born October 26, 1949 in Scott County, VA to the late Boyd and Helen Stidham Brickey.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Janice Summey and Peggy Summey, and brothers, Raymond Brickey and Sinclair Brickey preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Sonia Sanders and husband, Robert, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Antionette Laney, Nickelsville, VA, Melissa Dishner, Kingsport, TN, and Alice “Toogie” Summey and husband, Richard, Ft. Blackmore, VA; sons, Greg Parker and wife, Angel, Duffield, VA and Tommy Sawyer, Jr. and wife, Tashina, Ft. Blackmore, VA; husband, Kyle Horne; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Strazzante and husband, Angelo, FL, Beulah Bledsoe, Gate City, VA, and Dorothy Begley, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Brickey Family Cemetery, Wood, VA. Jeff Wilson, Mike Corder, Jeff Pike, Larry Cruby, Brandon Bledsoe, David Mann, Travis Sawyer, and grandsons, Joshua Ray Parker, and Christopher Derrick Dalton Parker will serve as pallbearers. Danny Summey, Angelo Strazzante, and Randall Kinkead will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
