Mac David Hood, 63, Kingsport, TN passed away, Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mac was born in Scott County, VA on August 16, 1949 to the late Carr and Maysie Lee Lane Hood.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Carr Hood, Jr., and sister-in-law, Loretta Hood preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Robbins Hood, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Marcella Hood Fleming and husband, Joe, Kingsport, TN, Jewell Hood Amos and husband, Carl, Kingsport, TN, Doris Hood Gilliam and husband, Larry, Kingsport, TN, and Tammy Hood Davidson and husband, DeWayne, NC; brothers, Earl Hood and wife, Lois, Gate City, VA, Hubert Hood and wife, Betty, Gate City, VA, and I.J. Hood, Duffield, VA; step daughter, Vickie Gallagher, OH; step sons, Quinton Adams and Laura, OH and Frank Adams, OH; step grandchildren, Jessee Adams and Austin Gallagher; special nieces, Amanda Browning and Sandy Hammonds; special nephews, Charles Amos and Patrick Davidson; special great nieces, Maysie Amos and Montana Hood; along with several other nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Mike Anglin and Evangelist Garry Hood officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Robbins Cemetery, Fairview, VA. Larry Gilliam, Patrick Davidson, James Powers, Bobby Oaks, DeWayne Davidson, Charles Amos, and Eugene Stapleton will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Thursday to go in procession to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
