Phyllis Ann Holder, 67, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 12, 1941 in Kentucky to the late Clifford Williams and Mary Kathleen Lawson Williams. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Jimmy Williams. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Tommy Holder, Ft. Blackmore, VA; daughter, Joy Fletcher and husband, Teddy, Hiltons, VA; three sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Tina Holder, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Jimmy and Sabrina Holder, Kingsport, TN Mark and Wilma Holder, Surgoinsville, TN; eight grandchildren, Bradley, Morgan, Taylor, Nathaniel, Jessica, Amanda, Bristyn, Brylee; six great grandchildren, Mathew, Joseph, Cody, Luke, Leland and Whisper; two sisters, Donna Overland and Sharon Brown; three brothers, Glen Williams, Bobby Williams, and Buddy Williams; special friend, Marie Dockery; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the home. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh and Rev. George Willis officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Holder and Higher Vision. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Mount Mitchell Church Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, TN. The family will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service. Pallbearers will be Gene Holder, Teddy Fletcher, Billy Joe Dockery, Mickey Lane, Jimmy Holder and Chris Holder. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Mathew Smith and Kenny Burchfield. Gate City Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Holder family.
