Jessie Lee Hill, 77, Gate City, VA went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Hill was born in Scott County, VA on June 2, 1936 to the late Robert Lee and Willie Leora Stacey Russell.
Jessie was a member and choir member of Weber City First Baptist Church. She was a secretary in the Emergency Department of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center with over twenty years of service.
In addition to her parents, her grandson, Craig Hill preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 57 and a half years, David J. Hill, Gate City, VA; son, David Martin Hill, Fredericksburg, VA and Michael Todd Hill and special friend, Lisa Osborne, Kingsport,TN; granddaughter, Taylor Nichole Hill, Duffield, VA; sisters, Lorraine Patrick, Kingsport, TN, Dorothy Taylor and husband, Jack, Duffield, VA, and Velima Lawson and husband, Nelson, Gate City, VA; brother, Paul Russell, Memphis, TN; special niece, Leslie Lawson, Kingsport, TN; special great nephew, Liam Lawson, Kingsport, TN; along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Dean Smith, Rev. Jerry Hall, and Dr. Lester Morelock officiating. The Weber City First Baptist Church Choir and Flo and Jiggs Willis will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Scott Taylor, Lynn Lawson, Rodney Russell, Josh Russell, Eddie Henry, and Paul Henry will serve as pallbearers. Mack Baker, Al Starnes, Jim Collins, and Jerry Hall will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 12:15 p.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in loving memory of Jessie Lee Hill to First Baptist Church of Weber City, 155 Shady Elm Lane, Weber City, VA 24290.
