Danny Marshall Herron, 74, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his residence after a short battle with Cancer.
Danny was born in Scott County, VA on February 7, 1943 and was the son of the late Garland and Ossie (Calhoun) Herron.
Danny was employed with DOMTAR as a mechanical maintenance planner, with 50 plus years of service.
His survivors include his wife, Pat “Tickey” (Church) Herron, of the home; sons, David Herron and wife, Barbara, Scott Herron and wife, Kristie, Brandon Herron, and Danny P. Herron; step daughter, Ginger Tipton, also of the home; grandchildren, Shawn Herron, Brantley James, and Mathias Kane Herron; sister, Dana Hartgrove; and his dog and constant companion, Max.
The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Ginger Tipton, his step daughter and care giver for her love and excellent care.
