Albert Ray Hensley, 65, Gate City, VA passed away, Thursday, February 14, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Hensley was born in Scott County, VA on November 3, 1947 to the late Thomas and Nannie Pet Walters Hensley.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Bill Hensley; brother-in-law, Willie Pierson; sister-in-law, Ruth Hensley; and father and mother-in-law, H.C. and Lois Ann Frazier Bledsoe preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bledsoe Hensley, Gate City, VA; special little girl, Rebecca Laney, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Leona Pierson, Gate City, VA, Grace Jones and husband, W.T., Gate City, VA, Ola Bellamy and husband, Harry, Gate City, VA, Virgie Thacker and husband, Dan, Surgoinsville, TN, Margie Tolley and husband, Larry, Gate City, VA, Phyllis Reynolds and husband, Gary, Kingsport, TN, and Georgia Thacker, Kingsport ,TN; brothers, Clayton Hensley and wife, Grace, Gate City, VA, Charlie Hensley and wife, Marie, Gate City, VA, J.B. Hensley and wife, Wanda, Gate City, VA, and Orville Hensley and wife, Kathy, Gate City, VA; 33 nieces and nephews, 43 great nieces and nephews; and 12 great great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Tolley and Rev. Wayne McCarty officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 12:15 p.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
