Heather Smith

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Heather Smith, 48, on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at her residence in Kingsport, Tennessee.  A graduate of Gate City High School, she was a star athlete in both basketball and volleyball, both of which she continued collegiately at Milligan College. After graduating from Milligan, she earned a Master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. 

Heather was an avid animal lover with a big heart.  She frequently cared for and rescued stray animals.

Heather was preceded in death by her father, Elliott Smith (2020) and her mother, Phyllis Smith (2023).  She is survived by her brother, Kevin Smith.
