Ruby Alene Hass, 79, Eidson, TN passed away, Monday, June 29, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Ruby was born in Washington County, VA on August 29, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Gertrude Murray Saul Statzer.
In addition to her parents, her son, David Gilliam; sisters, Mary Hughes, Ona Lee Saul, Maxie Howington, Lillian Price, and Elsie Neff; and brothers, Charlie Saul, James Saul, Fred Saul, Roy Statzer, and Jimmy Statzer preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Coy Wincer Hass, Eidson, TN; son, Randy Hass and wife, Janice, Sullivan Gardens, TN; daughter-in-law, Debbie Gilliam, Kingsport, TN; grandsons, Michael Hass and wife, April, Sullivan Gardens, TN and Jon David Gilliam, Kingsport, TN; granddaughters, Rachael Wells, and Tonya Taylor and husband, Wayne; great grandsons, Bentley and Gaige; great granddaughter, Elizabeth; mother-in-law, Lovely Lucille “Lucy” Ramey Hass, Nickelsville, VA; brother, Lonnie Statzer and wife, Wilma, Clinchport, VA; sisters, Virgie Rhoton and husband, Bill, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Shirley Statzer, Gate City, VA; special great niece, Hannah Grubb; special caregiver who was like a son, Harold Page; sisters and brothers who were special caregivers, Bill and Judy Hass, Lee and Rhonda Hass, Thelma and Jerry Falin, Peggy and Allen Hammonds, Brenda and Mark Cooter, Barbara and Victor Jeffers, and Mary and Brad Jeffers; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Charlie Taylor and Rev. Lennis France officiating. Patsy Hensley and Jeff Watson will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Pierson Cemetery. Nephews and special friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
