Mike was born in Scott County, VA on May 11, 1955 to Carol Dingus and the late R.C. "Banner" Hass. He was employed by Cumberland Resources as a coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Johnson Hass, Ft. Blackmore, VA; mother, Carol Hass Arwood, Duffield, VA; sisters, Paula Gail Bishop and husband, Charles, Ft. Blackmore, VA and Shelby K. Tomlinson and husband, Larry, Duffield, VA; brothers, Robert W. Hass and wife, Mary, Duffield, VA and Dennis R. Hass and wife, Barbara, Duffield, VA; sisters –in-law, Janet Estep and husband, Clifford, Gate City, VA and Genevieve Kenny and husband, Barry; brothers-in-law, Greg Johnson and wife, Trixie, Duffield, VA and William Johnson and wife, Angie, Ft. Blackmore, VA; father and mother-in-law, B.J. and Doris Johnson, Ft. Blackmore, VA; special nephew, James Hass along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Paul Presley officiating. Jeff Watson will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at the Cowden Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
