Jimmie Fred Hammonds, 83, Manville, VA passed away, Monday, May 16, 2022, at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, VA.
Jimmie was born in Scott County, VA on August 8, 1938, and was the son of the late Worley and Mary (Lane) Hammonds.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Loraine (Fields) Hammonds, grandson, Timmie Robert Hammonds, sisters, Blanche Estepp, Hemple Duncan, Lakie Bellamy, Irene Gillenwater, and Ruby Hammonds, brothers, Virgil Hammonds, Kenny Hammonds, and William Hammonds preceded him in death.
Surviving is his daughter, Connie Lane and husband, Randall, Ft. Blackmore, VA, sons, Marty Hammonds and wife, Michelle, Weber City, VA, and Tim Hammonds, Manville, VA, grandchildren, Tori Gilbert, Cody Hammonds, Misty Begley, special grandson, Bradon Hammonds, great grandchildren, Grady Hammonds, Caleb Mann, Layken Begley, Ava Begley, and Arianah Begely, special great granddaughter, Katherine Starnes, special niece, Kitty Mann, along with several other nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, Paul Fields, Manville, VA, and Claude Fields, Weber City, VA.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Rick Quillen officiating. Gina Hubbard and Mike Taylor will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Carter Cemetery on Copper Ridge in the Manville community of Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
