Mr. George Jim Guy, 67, East Carter's Valley Road, Gate City, VA passed away, Saturday, June 1, 2008 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Guy was born in Scott County, VA on August 30, 1940, son of the late James and Geneva Winstead Guy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Peters, a brother, Andrew Winstead and a niece, Judy Winstead.
Surviving is his sisters, Hannah Guy, Gate City, VA and Ellen Ferguson, Colonial Heights area of Kingsport and five nieces and two nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery in East Carter's Valley by Evangelist Kenneth Neeley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Glenna Winstead and Lawrence Winstead will provide music.
The family will be meeting at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home.
